Since I started drawing directly on the wall in 2021 using the two-handed Proxy Drawing Technique (Proxy 37, Proxy 38, and Going over the edge 1 and 2), my attention has shifted to what happens beyond the paper format. From now on, the titles either reference the circumstances in which works were created or a new method.
Method:
I cut lengths of about 140 cm from the 150 cm wide roll of paper I have in my storage. They are wider than my work table. I take the decision to use the Proxy Drawing Technique to draw on the areas of the paper still only just lying on the table or overlapping its edge. In this way, I have different consistencies in the drawing surface: a firm surface where the paper is lying on the table and soft surface where the paper is overhanging the table. Following each consecutive drawing action, I turn the sheet of paper. The edge of the table leaves pressure marks on the paper.
